Thunderbird Club

I the jack the same for most years of bird? I have a 2006 that I believe needs one as well. If so, where did you purchase from? Thanks!
It is probably the same. I got it from Philadelphia Luthier Supply. I have a 2001 and a 2015, so I can look at those and see if the jack is the same. If it is, then chances are yours is the same.

Stock the pickups are wired in parallel. In series there seems to be slightly less top end, but drastically more mids with both pickups on full. Has a wonderful throaty growl.

How should i go about wiring them in series on a kill switch? unless i really need some form of volume & tone controls to wire in series. (i've got a DPDT switch & am only using one side at the moment)

I've got plenty of 3-way toggle switches and no DPDT switches - Is it possible to use one of these for parallel/series switching? And could the center position be used as a Kill switch, or is this impossible to do?

ooooHHHH, I just got soooo busted. We are in the middle of some house renovations and that means I don't have the cases and basses scattered all over the place. Result: hairy eyeball from my wife. ooooHHHH! I don't think she realizes there are five Thunderbirds lurking in the house, let alone the other three or four bass guitars. :roflmao:

Throw a lampshade over the headstock of one, she'll never notice! ;)

Busted!

Mine are all over the house, happily I don't have to answer for them.

Not sure. Mine is wired series/parallel switching to a push/pull pot. I thought about just keeping it in series all the time and just having the stock volume knob there, but I wanted the option for parallel (parallel is "pull" on my bass).

I've been going back and forth with my vinyl guy and here's what we've come up with. It's not an exact replica since the '76 isn't done identically but I still think it looks great. The original '76 cannot be done in vinyl. The lines are too thin.

So here is my thought on the '76. If you like it, then cool, use it. If not remove prior to sticking the vinyl down and you'd still have a Bicentennial TBird but just not the '76 model year one.

What do you think guys? I need opinions, even the ones I might not like. Remember though, the original '76 cannot be done in vinyl.

Thanks in advance for any and all input.
