I believe i've found my perfect pick! After years of playing with various dunlop picks & even some other branded picks, i've found the one that benefits both my playing & optimizes my tone. Tortex Dunlop .88 green picks. I've played with the max grips, the classic nylon, & some other dunlops ranging from .96-1.14. The .96 was good for a while but the nylon felt like it was just being destroyed after a few gigs. Not really retaining the attack. These tortex ones have last me for a year so far without losing much attack & drive in my playing. I never miss a beat & it's great. If i could be endorsed by dunlop & d'addario it'd be great. Oh & Peavey (but only if they can recreate my 74 head's tone into either something that size - i don't mind - or into a d-class amp.) Then i'd have to find a cab designer - most likely GK.

I like 1.5mm for bass.

The bridge on my 08 sit up off the body a bit- certainly much higher than my 74 Ripper which is almost on the body. So sometime between 01 and 08 it would seem.

My '05 also has the bridge pretty close to the body, and some slightly higher individual saddles.

My 2013 Gold Anniversary model has the bridge much higher than on my 2001 Blackbird.

Same here; My 50th Anniversary also has the bridge riding high compared to my '05. Also the saddles are smaller in height as well, which might count for the bridge riding higher.

I almost never use a pick, but on those rare occasions, it's a 3.0 mm plastic stubby triangle. Apparently I like fistfulls of pick just like fistfulls of neck. Hmmm... Can I say that in here without it spiraling out of control?

I was just about to comment on that remark, but reconsidered in the last minute... ;)
