Thunderbird Club

According to FedEx, the GBP has arrived!

I'm off tomorrow night, so I'm planning to go pick it up tomorrow a.m., before plumber guy shows up.
Then, there will be pics! :hyper:

Here's my inkwell and the rest of the rig. The photo at the top of the page was taken at a restaurant where I was signing a wedding certificate, but normally I use this for book signings. Occasionally for other things when the mood strikes. And yes, I am seriously behind on blogging.

Did the Peacock scream when you yanked that sucker out? :D If you still have the Peacock, it's kind a like buying a box of pens at Office Depot I guess.

Interesting how much of a difference the pick makes with the GHS strings.
I don't think it's that big of a difference on my Roto flats (but, I also don't play w/fingers much, just enough to remember why I don't :D )
Indeed. If the Boomers on a VP sounded like that live I wouldn't use them. They sounded good if that's the target, just not what I'm shooting for. Oddly enough, in the bad recording the 06 sounds more like like what I'm aiming for live. As I think I mentioned, on the recording fingers sounded nicely defined on the 06, but live that definition gets covered up with many strings.

I don't understand why you need a plumber in the pictures...

"Local color"?
:roflmao:

Just trying to get it picked up early, so once he's done, I can finally get to bed. I'm getting too old to stay up 24+ hours straight...:dead:

Where have I seen this scenario play out before...

From a distance: Ding-dong
Lady of the house: In a sing-song-y tone, Just a minute.
Man at the door: Did you call for a plumber?
Lady of the house: Yes I did, but could you help me take pictures of my Thunderbird?

:roflmao:

I've seen that movie. Only it was a pizza delivery guy and there was no Thunderbird. And she didn't have enough money to pay for the pizza...

After I posted that last bit, somehow I knew that is where this would end up

It's slightly disappointing sometimes that real life doesn't go that way. I kinda feel like a plumber, a pizza delivery guy, and Thunderbirds in a "firemen calendar" type photo shoot is something I would probably have interest in...;)

:smug:

Just ftr, it also works fine for me, on Samsung Galaxy S10e (Android, Chrome).

I nearly always play with fingers. Pick is for songs that absolutely require pick. I suppose it's an upright bass habit, although I played nearly all fingers even when I didn't have an upright. I can't play guitar at all without a pick, but that's not saying much. I don't play guitar very well no matter what.

I dunno. It's all relative. Staying up 24 straight hours is OK depending on the reason. Then sleeping for 16 is probably in order.
