@hillerup Can you see the picture on this previous post? On looking at it I'm now wondering if it just didn't come out when the bridge came off? It seems like it may be generally in the right spot... Or not?

The saddle screws fit the notches on the bridge like on this picture:

Well, I'm not GASing, but it sure looks like a pretty axe.
For me, the 7ender neck isn't mine, but with a narrow string spacing it would be worth thinking...

They've been posted before...

I recall there were different opinions about them...

From behind the neck. Want to avoid the classic neck dive. Moving it probably to the "traditional" fender spot.

I have a 2014 Gibson TBird..no neck dive..maybe it's the strap length..not to low, not to high...just right around waist high...so comfortable for finger playing..try it before you modify...

Finally in the club. Got this on a trade in. It's "used" but still had the plastic on the pickguard and what not. I've been holding off waiting to try one because of the neck dive but I don't notice any. It wants to settle in at a horizontal position but that's how I play anyway.

And now my Epis outnumber the Fenders.

I played one of them, they sound nothing like a bird (not a bad thing per se). The bass feel great and have a round deep pleasant tone. Holger (the owner of Sandberg and all around nice guy) explained to me that under the covers there is a split neck pickup (P-type) and a MM/Soapbar PU at the bridge. They are great passive and even better active. I would say it's pretty much a Fender/MM inspired sound on steroids with a Fenderbird look.

I think they have a passive mode. Im actually interested in them since the Sandberg configurator allows for a fretless version and Id love to have a TBird-ish fretless. But they are way too expensive to be an option for me

Im pretty sure it would sound muddy and need new pickups. The price of a pro + the frustation of doing a defret + new pickups was enough to convince me to buy a non TBird-ish bass. Plus I dont want my basses to look identical

I love, Love LOVE active electronics, but this blend of Thunderbird and Explorer just doesn't really work. The Sandberg body is just not right proportionally, and I just can't get with that headstock. They sound great though.
