Thunderbird Club

GHS is Gibson (as far as I know) and have never gone away... are you saying they now have strings labeled "Gibson" strings?
These are the short scale Nickel rounds.

Have any of you ever tried a HPF/LPF and decided you only wanted the HPF?

Have any of you who like HPF and LPF found you needed separate pedals? If so, where do you put them in your signal chain?

Referring only to bass use. Especially (but not only) Thunderbird bass use.
I like the questions and await interesting answers.

NBD, just came in late PM. Did a quick set-up, everything sounds fine. Gonna do a better set-up when I put flats on it tomarrah.

That's one of the newer ones, yes? Great score!

A better neck than Epi's first issue, I want one!

Thanks :-).
It's a 2017, part of the latest Ltd. Ed. run. As for the neck, not sure what the earliest models felt like, but this is a chunky piece of wood, bigger than the any other bass I've played. Epi specs list it as "1960's" SlimTaper D-Profile". Overall, the instrument is surprisingly light in feel and comfortable to play and sounds on the darker side with those 2 humbuckers. Less of a neck dive than your typical Bird. I like basses with different looks, as long as they have a rock vibe, Birds and Explorers certainly have that !

I did a bad thing... I know we have Thunderbird Thursdays and Fender Fridays, but what to I do with this? When I saw the ad in my local classifieds I thought it had to be a faker because the price was too low, but the guy was just blowing out his "extra" gear, so I couldn't resist. The thing doesn't even look like it was played in the store, let along since he bought it. He had a beautiful 5 string Warwick on the wall that has been his #1 for years, and said he bought this, played it once or twice, and then sat for five years. I think I have a problem...

Crazy story, obliterated (lol) the pump on the AMX and was told they haven't been made in years......only option I was told was to machine a 401 pump....ouch!! So, I get on an AMX forum and someone mentions some dude from MI who rebuilds them but this guy's post was from 2016 and had the guys number...so, I call the number and dude answers! Unbelievable...Says: "sure, send it". Send me a check when you get it back!!!
Who even does business like that anymore? Even sent a new gasket!

Perfectly acceptable behavior.

This is how I know I'm in the right company here. :D

Scott, isn't yours a mapleglo (if I'm remembering correctly)? I love those! I've always been more drawn to the S models. Probably imprinted on Paul's bass (or Chris') way back when. I had a regular 4003 15 years ago but that binding was not comfortable on my arm at all, so I decided the simpler model and I were the right match.

waking up the neighbors....

They'll live :-).

Nice pic, can't wait to jump on my vélo de route . I had to pass the 2019 season and barely logged in 500 kms last summer before a pinched nerve in a shoulder put my biking season to rest.... on July 3rd.
