Thunderbird Club

I am hoping to get to a show on that swing west. It will be a ways from Seattle, based on what's on the list for now. Worth a drive, though. I drove four hours each way for each of my vaccinations, so a drive for a show that's much more fun than that would be reasonable enough.

You won’t regret it Will.

They did it. They Flyrig'd the VTDI.
This has got to sound immortal with a Thunderbird !

Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig V2

(no affiliation, of course)
That sure looks interesting. Gotta admit I like my VT Dx DI. When I played through various rigs I wasn't thrilled with the VT would always get me a tone I loved. If I had to use supplied backlines I'd doggone have it with me all the time. It can make average amps sound WAY better. I still use mine as my DI though I have tube head.

It sounds like the sans amp has been upgraded. But to me, the addition of a loop is big, as is two channels.

Yup !
Having the VTDI is key for me, I'm much more VTDI than SansAmp. The possibility of switching from clean to dirty PLUS adding other FX makes this thing very hard to resist. Pedalboard will be downsizing, for the better. Haven't seen a launch date yet, but I'll talk to my buds at L&McQ.

Been a very long time since a pedal floated my boat...

I have the first version ad love it! This is exciting! I too have a tube amp for natural overdrive, but it would be awesome to hear how it sounds in conjunction with it! The two channels is a fantastic addition. Take my money!

I had a SansAmp Para Driver before the VT. Didn't like the Para at all. I guess in some situations it was better than nothing, but it didn't do a thing for me. Bought it used and sold it slightly more used. Bought a used VT Dx and loved it from day one. I've mentioned on various threads before that if you have a rig you are not that happy with, get a VT and it will make a huge difference. There's magic in that box!

With you for the Para. Some like it on bass, but it didn't work for me either. I tried a lot of preamps from Tech21, always went back to the VT sound.

Even if I fight it, they'll end up taking mine... :rollno:

Here's my 2013 PB NR getting a proper workout last Friday night up in Bay City. The show was a huge success in excitement and enthusiasm from the crowd. I have two sons in this band and while my oldest son played bass in a previous version of this band, he's now back on rhythm where he should be. Steve(21) the bass player was a great find for the band and he's doing a great job.

Here's a couple of pics of my boys, Dom on rhythm(19) and Dave on drums(15) and the last pic is of Darren(15) the lead guitarist.

Cool pictures! Is that Bemos in Bay City? I play there a couple times a year. Fun little dive :)

It is new gear day. Epiphone has released the Alex Lifeson Les Paul today. L&M called my brother last week to tell him it was in, but officially was not in yet. If he wanted it, he could put down a deposit, but they couldn't tell him how much as that would reveal pricing which they could not discuss either...

I was looking at that when I got the email. Looks like Epi is doing a bang-up job there. Now if only they were putting Thunderbirds in stores, and putting even 5% of the LP effort into some newer birds...

I looked again and found the August schedule after your post. They’re going to be in Paso Robles on the 25th. It’s doable if I can take the 26th off. Really want to see his show.

If I ever get tired of having tube heads, I think I could live with a power amp and the VT Dx as my pre. I was shocked to hear the Para when I got after all the praise it got at the time. I can't imagine ever being without the VT. Not crazy about the distortion with it, but I'm not big on it any way.
