I really liked Black Beauties on the bolt-on 'Bird that converted me into being a Thunderbird player a while ago.

I am going for several sets of the licensed tuners, they are on ebay for something like $62 a set. Some more advice, I'll be wanting some chrome tuners for my Epi Classic any ideas what fits? These two look the likeliest:
HB6 - 1/2'' Ultralite Tuner > Store > Hipshot Products.
HB6 - 1/2 Licensed Ultralite Tuner > Store > Hipshot Products.
I think I'm looking at the very same ones now, 4 right hand bass side?I am going for several sets of the licensed tuners, they are on ebay for something like $62 a set.

I did, but sent them a message to change, they're the same price so shouldn't be a problem. Too used to working in metric these daysPhew hope you didn’t order yet.
Sorry about that!I did, but sent them a message to change, they're the same price so shouldn't be a problem. Too used to working in metric these days
Not your fault, it only took 2 minutes to go and get a spanner and whip one off, I should have done it first, silly thing is I knew it was the smaller one I wanted, I'm just mertricified these daysSorry about that!
). Did you know there was a street named after me here in the UK:Well I played my Blackbird last night with a pick, copping a little Bobby Vega vibe. If you haven't tried a nice set of flats on a bird with a pick, well who am I... but I think yer missing out on a good gag.

I prefer stainless nickle flat rounds.
Well, none of the auto parts stores had what I needed either. So I tried ammonia/water combo. No change. Tried Brasso. Really polished up the side touching the gasket that doesn't have oxidization. Tried Bar Keepers Friend. No change. So now I guess I'll order up some of the Tripoli Rouge, and barring that, I'll probably just opt for new hardware. This is some impressive tarnish/oxidization.
stainless nickle? that's a new one for me.
You have to use tripoli with a buffing wheel but it will definitely work when used properly.
Agreed about the maturity content. I stand as exempt but it's a thoughtful observation, for the most part.I suspect most of us are on the "more mature" side here, lot to be said for it
My finger was worse that Tony Iommi's it took a long time for the pain to die down enough to even think about playing again
There's a pick here if you're interested but it is graphic, you have been warned Just cut my fingers pretty bad...
I would say the Cobalts are brighter and sound more like rounds that the Sadowskys. I have an old set of Sadowskys on a Precision, and they are dark as midnight by now. I wouldn't call them dead or muted, just dark. I'm not sure how the Cobalts are going to sound as they age. They are on the '91, so I'll find out eventually.
