Now that some still shots have been posted you can see the Gibby logo on the headstock (void on the truss cover). Looks legit. I think you’re right, it’s probably a custom shop.

I wish I had that sort of pull. I was told the custom shop doesn't make basses.
Sure seems like they do if the musician/client is someone they want seen playing one of their instruments.
That's a weird one. Left-handed players might see that, contact Gibson asking where they can get one, only to be told they can't. I'd be pissed, way more so than just knowing a left-handed version simply doesn't exist.
They do exist-sorta. How much $$$$ can you bring to the table; how much exposure will you 'guarantee'; how long will you wait?

I recently did something similar on my guitarists '40s vintage Custom Kraft hollow-body guitar. Pic taken before the piezo bridge pre-amp wire was hooked up inside the box.I designed/constructed a thin plastic box around the tailpiece to ft a 9v battery, pre-amp board, pot and jack for the piezo bridge.
"L" shaped lid connected by 4 screws.
It was missing it's original pg so I designed/cut one based on examples I found on a search. Hum-bucker pu attached to the pg floating on the body. V/T

99% of the players? Impossible. Go call Gibson and ask what it would take for them to make you one. They'd probably say nothing.
Take that 2018 for example. I sent it to Gibson to evaluate. They offered to replace it, but had no left-handed long-scale basses. I asked about maybe having one made at the custom shop and just paying the difference. They flat out said the custom shop doesn't make basses so it wasn't even an option. I don't consider someone in a popular band (I've never heard of this band, but that doesn't mean much) to reflect reality.
