Thunderbird Club

Sometimes we and the general public trash drummers..I’ve been blessed for the last ten years to have a solid, funny, intelligent and 100% good guy as the other half of our rhythm section.
I’ve done little things for him in the past like electronic /electric repairs, advise ect...no big deal.
We rehearse at my house and his second rig stays permanently set up in the basement so he doesn’t have to load in and out when we get together.

I’ve paid him the highest compliment that I could think of when I told him that I don’t look back at him during a gig most times because I know exactly where he is going to be during the song.

Last night after rehearsal he hung around after everyone else had left.

He gave me this and said thanks for everything that you do for me.

It great to be in a band with people that you enjoy being around..Cheers.

That is a great book!! It is a great thing to play with people that you enjoy their company outside of the band setting as well.

Completely off topic. This is what makes up most of my brain. Have friends out there racing and crewing

Ultra4 Racing LIVE!
I like most any stock car, some Indy, and watch a little drag racing, but I've never watched any off road. I need to give it a try.

I did both. Picking up tools was pretty common for me, although I don't do it any more for work. Around the house is a different story. The parts of the basement that aren't for music and laundry are where tools live and occasionally get used.

I don't miss arguing with everyone as the general and I don't miss working in the rain and cold as a carpenter. Being a consultant with an office ain't bad!
Not that being a consultant/designer is any easier, but I don’t miss the dust and the noise. The 5 second commute is much better as well.

That relationship in a band is sadly too rare. You are blessed indeed. Fortunately somehow I've managed to avoid being in bands with people with an over appreciation of themselves. I always thought if I'm playing for fun and only a little money, I'm not going to be around talking rectums even if they are great players. If I were making a fortune I could likely overlook a Pete Townsend type. At least for a while anyway.
Talkbass has those running jokes about drummers, but I’m lucky to have some great friends that are also talented drummers.

Yeah, I hear you. I do as well, but there are a couple basses that the right angle doesn't fit into the recessed area. I'm still amazed at some guitar and bass players who don't loop the cable through the strap. Apparently they're great at never stepping on a cable or getting it caught on something.

Oh I step on the cable everyday. I suck at that lol

Sitting while playing fixes that.

I like having the Strat jack on my Hamer FBIV. I don't need it on any other basses but it wouldn't stop me from buying a bass if it already had that jack. It does help with cable-management and I am one of those that loops the cord thru my strap whenever I can. I can understand why someone wouldn't like it tho.

I never step on my cable:

I can sit on the couch and play, but setting up or or hunching over a stool or sitting in a chair makes my neck and back hurt.
The Pursuit of Happiness feels your pain...

Sometimes my head hurts
And sometimes my stomach hurts
And I guess that it won't be long
'For I'm sitting in a room with a bunch of people
Whose necks and backs are aching
Whose sight and hearing's failing
Who just can't seem to get it up

Great Toronto scenes
Primarily 80s Queen W. but also Bay St. financial district, the seedier parts of Yonge, and upmarket Bloor W. So much of it has changed now...

I always loved swamp buggy racing, but I never see it on TV anymore...
Used to go to the stock car racing at a local track when we were kids - highschool kids buying junkers to fix up and race...
