Does anybody know either whether or not the NY Phil usually accepts CD recordings of an applicants playing as a pre-preliminary screening round for those with "weak" resumes, or better yet, whether they will be allowing such a scenario this time? Or is consideration of who gets to come based solely on the resume? I tried asking them and they haven't answered. Thanks.
Out of curiosity, for an audition like this do they generally hold one audition and pick the principle, assistant then two section members or do they hold three different auditions? One for the principal, one for the assistant, then one to fill the two section spots?
