But on your pic the roundish corner is flush. There's no protruding plastic "leg" to support the case when standing. That surely can be seen from the other side.
I have flown with a TSA fender hard case checked in baggage. Flights were delayed to the point that we landed in Green Bay at 11 pm. There were no extra crews so I had to wait for the ticket clerk to clear that post and come and do the baggage locked behind a door. That was a real pain.
Nex time I flew with a Mono bag on board and convinced the FA to store it in the coat closet on the plane. That was fine to Chicago, but the connecting flight was small and the bass had to go in baggage. The good thing was I had the bass with me at all times. And did not need to deal with baggage claim.

Mono bags a pretty good. (Unfortunately, my primary performance bass won't fit in a Mono bag.) If you can get your bass in a Mono bag in the cabin your bass will enjoy a wonderful ride to its eventual destination, arriving safely at your side. If you travel frequently, particularly if you travel outside the lower 48, you may run into situations where the flight crew will not allow your bass in a Mono bag into the cabin. Yep. The "rules" say if the bass fits in the overhead it is allowed in, and most flight crews will bend over backwards to accomodate your request. The reality is the flight crew will have the final say, right or wrong, over whether to allow your bass in a Mono bag, which is larger than a typical roller board, onto a flight that is fully booked and short on space in the overhead bins. Argue all you want: it won't be allowed in for that particular flight and you will have to gate check the bass in a pretty good case that isn't really designed to be tossed into the hold. Argue enough and you won't be allowed on that flight either.
Which is better? Taking a chance on getting the bass in the cabin, or checking the bass in a decent flight case made for air travel? I mean, if you absolutely must arrive at your destination at the intended time with your bass in one piece, buy a decent case and check it. This is just my take based upon frequent experience. YMMV
If spirit let me take a musicmaster in a gig bag on as a carry on any airline will let you take what you got lol. If it don’t fit in the overhead lap it, flight attendants probably won’t care. Be sure to ask airport security for pics of your bass as it goes through the x ray machine to see the wicked cool truss rod images and to inspect your truss rods health.
