TKO 115

I have found a old TKO 115 with Black Widow speaker. I dont know much about it and cant find any reviews. It is $150 so i just want to hear some advice. Is it a good buy, what is similar for the same price. What about building my own amp? What is the price range on a DIY tube bass amp?
Thanks
Mike

you mean the peavey tko115? the combo amp? i have one, it's 100 watts, 70lbs, it's built like a tank and it's pretty loud. i got mine for $300 and would've probably paid more. it's a great amp, although a bit large compared to other 100 watt amps. if you need more specific details just ask.

Looks like this? Used to never leave home without it, now it never leaves home. Weighs a whole bunch and is very loud for its power rating.

if you can try it to verify it works, it's not falling apart, looks half decent, and makes no mystery noises at high volume then that's a good deal. you'd be hard pressed to find a louder combo for that price.

sound is average and serviceable for practice, small shows, or stage monitoring.

if you don't expect much, you will be amazed for $150 and "should" (not seeing or hearing it disclaimer) get your money back on resale if it's not for you.
