To do or not: Marshall VBA 400

Massive sound from a massive rig!

If you feel you don't need all that power all of the time there is a quick solution. A friend of min pulled 4 of the tubes to make it a 200 w amp. It worked out really well! Same sound but with a nice growl at less tinnitus inducing levels...

Maybe I'll put a 19"preamp in a rack, I need a compressor too, so I'll just make an effects rack!

Thanks guys!
I don't know when that'll happen, but we'll see!
I't will be my first tube amp btw, It's more like a middleground between solid state cleaniness and tube growl hahah.:hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

Haha, it's true, I might not need a compressor. But it was just an idea, I've been using a compressor since I was a baby, so I love compression, It sounds so dull without it.
The preamp: I've heard I'ts not very versatile, With preamp I was thinking more about a preamp on a trace elliot, more like a 12 band slide preamp, just to cut off and boost some ranges. But that's just an idea too, for later, when I'm Rich(NOT)

Btw: is it possible(ive heard people say you could change 6l6 to 6550 tubes) to change the 6550 tubes to 6l6 tubes, so the wattage would be less big, and the sound more fluffy? (not that I don't like the sound, but just so the wattage is a bit more low, so I can play in small clubs)
