To fix or scrap - Ampeg b248

Impedence, power handling, sharing the same box with different drivers, etc... It's not likely to sound great in the first place, and the chances of damaging one pair or the other or both is relatively high (and then once one pair goes, you're more likely to blow the other pair). I mean, if you play it at bedroom volumes it's probably not a big deal, but I wouldn't try to push it hard, and if you can't get the most out of it, what's the point?

Agreed. If you're going to restore, might be good to get 4 matching speakers. You only know what your budget is, but you might be rewarded with a great little combo when you're done. I have a good feeling on your restoration. Excited to see the final results!

Update!

I replaced the broken pots, glued some of the tolex (still have more to stick down), and got some cheapo knobs on.

Not too shabby! I have it paired with a 2x10.

Sounds pretty good, I'm still tinkering with the eq to find the best tone. All in all, a good $50 investment and fun to play with. I'll be keeping my eyes open for matching speakers but this works in the mean time

In the practice/rehearsal space/room of my band there is a Ampeg B2-48 provided, but not with the original speakers. I found replacement speakers (polypropylene cone and rubber surrounds):

I fed the parameters provided (download of manual at that website) into WinISD and that gave a good bass response for the cab of the B2-48 combo.

I put those Fenton speakers in the B2 and they sound good, not as boomy as the originals like in my SVT48HE.

So anyone looking for replacement speakers for their B2-48 combo or SVT48HE cab, you can consider these Fenton's.
