Guys dont get me wrong. I love giging if I could do it everynight I would. And that is why I put myself through hell to get my original band in place for recording and touring. It does take time to put everything together and make it work. But hopefully in the end this time it will pay out as I have all the necessary contact info labels and management who stuck with me after my former band split.

To Gig or Not To Gig

No i would love to go play for others and get paid! But there are just no paying gigs around here for us! So we find open mics.

No, covers happen more on Frenchman St., but there you will probably play for tips exclusively. On Bourbon pay can be $20-25 per set if you have a good sitch. $75 per for person before any tips. But some of the bands on the street will go 6+ hrs, especially now that its carnival season. It can be a total grind.

It's really ones call to gig or not too. Some people are perfectly ok with making music, however never playing live or touring. I myself love to gig and tour. As for diverse, I know what I like and don't like, however are almost never against at least giving something a shot. I would say I am pretty easy going and relaxed, however strive to make great and do great.

When I was auditioning I didn't care about the genre, only that the band was professional in nature, established, and gigged 4-5 a month and seemed like good people.
I did not audition for any metal bands. I'm just not a fit for many reasons.
