Details

Offered at below market value for quick sale; excellent condition pre-Gibson 5-string fretless, I believe it was made in 1987 (ser. No. 644). The body is maple, the neck is maple/purpleheart. Includes original Tobias hard case. There is a small ding on the headstock, photo included. I'm looking for quick cash to get me past the son-needs-braces financial hurdle, but will consider trades plus cash.

Trades considered:
G&L L2000 fretless
Godin A4 or A5 fretless w/synth access
Tony Franklin fretless
I might not turn up my nose at a really hot p-bass (fretted)

But would need cash within about a week of this posting (9/23), or I'm keeping it.

Cash price is $2000 + shipping.

PM me with any questions!

Thanks

Eric

Any advice on the image display thing? They're hosted on photobucket, and I wrapped the url's with image tags, but it still doesn't work.

Freakin' wow.
Not what I need... but bump for an incredible bass at a phenomenal price.

The build quality, tone, and ergonomics of these older Tobias basses is unbelievable.

has it been defretted ?

Since this is the second time I've been asked this, I think it makes sense to answer it here, rather than as a pm...as far as I know this bass came from Tobias as a fretless, rather than being de-fretted later. The guy I bought from said he was the orignal owner, and that he played it a little then put it away and pretty much just let it sit. There is no indication of any aftermarket work being done on it, i.e. chipping of fingerboard wood that can happen during a de-fret. I have a couple of close-up shots of the fingerboard showing the dimensions (and inlayed fret lines) at the nut and at the 24th fret line that I can e-mail on request.

Thanks

Eric
