Tobias Bass Logo Flipped?

Has anyone else ever noticed that at some point the Tobias logo flipped?!

I noticed it years ago but couldn’t find any mention of it online so I forgot about it… I like to think it’s just a mistake that’s been printed on tons of basses over the years!

I was just cleaning up the one on the left of the pic here to sell, and noticed it again… I figured I’d ask here in case anyone had ever noticed or knew why?

I don't know the answer to that but it looks like the strings on the one on the right may be short or medium scale. There are a bit short for the nut and starting to unwind.

keen eye! Yeah it’s all good, it’s not unwinding, standard strings, just not long enough for the through body bridge I had installed… I keep meaning to get new strings for that but weirdly it sounds fine - cheers for the reminder.

The one on the right is a Tobias. The one on the left is a Gibson/Epiphone offering. :)

yeah I had considered that but I had a Renegade (Gibson made) and that was the right way round… the one on the right in the pic is a Toby Pro so again Gibson era… maybe it came in with epiphone making them (left one is epiphone Toby)? I dunno… it’s really weird.

Yeah I know about musicyo, as I bought the one on the right new from them back in the day… that’s the right way round on those, and all Gibson Tobias basses (renegade, growler, killer b) are that way according to a quick Google search… looks like it’s from the second run of Toby pro /deluxe basses on that it goes the other way (the white/red logo that replaced the Pearloid inlay like on mine)

I’m overthinking this aren’t I?! But i do find it a tiny bit mental that the logo on the gig bag that comes with the basses now, is the right way round…
