Tobias Classic 5 California

I played a benefit show for breast cancer in Ventura, CA last weekend and somebody walked off with my bass.

It's a zebra wood Tobias classic 5 string. Serial # 3744.....(this is serial number) I think. If I am off it's only by a couple of numbers like 3257, and I am out looking for the serial number to have for sure, but there aren't to many of these out there for sitting on a shelf. I will update once I find it.

It has a new Bartolini preamp in it, and I have posted pictures.
I know without an exact serial # it's a little rough, but it was is a Igig 515 soft case, a strap(Dunlop locks) a set of house keys, several of The Situations CD's, Two Cables. A mogami(sp) and a Monster Cable. Set of tools and polish, and a Book I was reading about a band I really like and had been outlining quotes for future use.

Anyone see it, hear about it help me out, please!!! I know the stage crew was from Ventura, Santa Barbara, and Palm Dale(The High Desert!) I know that there are better basses out there, and other BS like that, but I had thought that this was the last bass I would ever purchase. It's loss has made me feel as if I lost my best friend. Since I am broke and play music for survival, it's loss hurts. :crying:

Thanks for any help
Rob

Man, it SUCKS that you were playing a benefit (doing good for other folks) and someone did so wrong by you. I'll keep an eye out. The "search all craigslists" is a good part of the plan. It's also a lefty and so will stand out even more.

Thanks for the search all craigslist. I have been going through area by area. It not only blows, makes me want stuff I cannot afford. Thanks for checking out the listing, and keeping an eye open. LOL Two weeks in a row we played benefits for Cancer, so hope my Cancer Karma is good. Some how my 5 string karma wasn't high enough.

I did have a back up bass, and played my custom jazz IV and rocked the hell out of a local club/bar. I was so blown away. Going back to 4 strings I was always reaching up top, but we covered songs that we never before played, and we aren't a cover band with ease. I hope my Toby comes home, and I first though of it as if my brother died, but I'll Survive.

Thanks!

Also - you're relatively local to Ventura. Go back to the venue or talk to the folks who put it on. Get whatever info you can on the crew, or if anyone saw anything, etc.
You HAVE filed a police report, right?
