I've always wanted to check these out, but I missed the boat when they were available. I think she may be a keeper, light and a monster plugged in! Very impressed! Says bass #42 on the back of the peghead.

Seems like when I first got into TB, they were clearing out the last of them for cheap. I get the feeling I really missed something...

A couple years ago Reverend blew out the remaining cases for $69. I grabbed a couple, but in retrospect, I should have grabbed a dozen.

Best bet may be a used one on e-bane.

I've got some hours on it now, and I like the tone a lot, but I think the tuning machines have got to go. I feel like I get a little backlash on the E string tuner. What machines would be an exact fit?

I would try removing the tuner and putting some grease in it. I've had some pretty nasting feeling ones but new grease has always cured them..

I haven't pulled it off, but it looks like a sealed unit. I'll take a closer look and pull a peg off tonight and see if there is any way to pop it open. If not, it almost looks like those hipshot ultra lights would fit without modification.

Yeah, the stock tuners on the Rumblefish are their only real weakness. One of the tuners on my 5L is a little sticky. It stays in tune extremely well though, so it's only on string changes when it becomes an issue. The tuners on my BH5 are better quality (hipshot?) ones.

Cases can be hard to find. Once in a blue moon one will show up on ebay, but in general people keep them with their basses since the black/white cases are pretty cool and add to the Reverend mojo. I was lucky that both of my Revs came with the hard case.

I gotta figure out for sure which ones will fit without drilling new holes. I don't mind putting a little into this to get her going, for $400 it was a steal. Anything else I should know before doing a setup? weak truss rods or anything to be aware of?

That is awesome, man.. $400 for the 42nd Rumblefish made! You've got me beat by 5.
Nothing to worry about with setups on these basses. I'm pretty shy about truss rod adjustments but I've done them on all three of my 'Fish with no problems.

I saw it was posted at 4pm and replied at 8pm and received a message it was gone a few hours later. When I saw it was listed for $400 I knew it was going to be gone quick, but not that quick. Wow.

The Hipshots drop right in. I threw a 'clover paddle' set on one of mine. Nice upgrade for a Fish. As a bonus, they also look way better.

At one time, they were a Reverend factory upgrade for an additional $75.
