Never tried them , but I don't think they sound like Alembics, from what I heard Alembics tend to get their tone from proprietary electronics , unless you have the same electronics you won't sound like Alembic :) IMO.
I know that the HF (Hadrien Feraud partnership)which is a sort of "all inclusive" Will model tends to sound like Hadrien Feraud... Heavy low mids, fast attack. This one has the HF Marceau pickups , very warm sounding. I know the bassist of Ultra Vomit plays on a Marceau UV(Ultra Vomit :D ) which was made for him at first, because he wanted an alembic-like design.

Yeah I was only talking about Alembic basses here. I heard that the guys at Alembic do everything to keep the wood combination to sound as neutral as possible.
Most of their "character" comes "mainly" from the electronics. Of course it's not the case with every luthier.

Actually , I put the wrong picture for the UV bass , the one on the picture is a discontinued model :smug: but they look alike !
