Tone circuit acronyms?

Hello everyone! I have just joined this great community recently and I must say it has been terrific reading and very informative. I have particularly enjoyed the J Bass pickup comparison that Smash & Sticky have going. All the resources here are manna from heaven though, kudos to all of you.
There is something I would like to know though and I haven't run across in the searches I have tried. Do any of you know what the acronyms for the different tone circuits mean and what their advantages and disadvantages are? I imagine that NTBT would mean, neck volume tone, bridge volume tone, but some of the others are not apparent to me.

I think that NTBT is a model of Bartolini preamp, like their NTMB preamp.

Also, you might see shorthand like VVT for Vol-Vol-Tone like you see on a typical passive Jazz Bass, or VTVT, VT like a PBass, or some combination of V(ol), T(one), B(lend), or B(ass), M(id), T(reble), on an active pre.
