As i've been reading lately the best way to approach getting a good tone from your bass is to start with the tone settings set to flat on the amp. With that said, what is the best starting point for the tone control settings on the bass itself?

Tone control settings on the bass vs amp

This on everything but my G&L. I start the G&L on 1/2 on every stetting and go from there.
