Tone HELP

I hope this is the right place for this age-old question....

I have a GK Backline 600 fed by a Stingray 4 and pumped out by an Avatar B212. My highs and mids don't have enough bass AND they get lost in the mix. My bass (as in bass frequencies) is too loud. I have tried all kinds of EQ combos on the head and the bass but I can't seem to get it right. Any suggestions? Should I look into a compressor?

I'm going to assume that you meant that your highs and mids don't have enough volume because highs and mids not having enough bass is one weird sentence.

So you are saying it's muddy, right? That is, just bass rumble and not enough mids and highs? Based on your description, a compressor will not help because it sounds like something is wrong like a blown tweeter.

I guess that does sound kinda weird, but what I am getting at is the level is uneven, and there is nothing wrong with the tweeter. Turning up the volume = creating overpowering bass while leaving mids and highs behind.

i would say start out by flating all EQ on amp and Bass then adjust the mids or even high and see how it sound. It sound like their is too much bass for the band ....
