Tone Pot for fretless PJ

I'm currently modding my P into a fretless PJ with a VVT configuration and I'm now looking for a tone pot to put in it, but I don't which one to buy a 250K or a 500K? Which would be better for a PJ configuration?

I'd personally go with 250k. The J is already going to sound thinner, so a 500k may make it too thin. Depends on pups too.

Thanks. To clarify, my current P pick up is a fender '62 style pick (might replace this with a dizmarzio model P) and the J pickup is a bartolini.

500k is the same as 250k from 0 to 250k. Beyond that, it is brighter. The tradeoff is a different taper.

I would also go with the 250k pot. That's what I've always used in that configuration.
