I was playing today, and I noticed that when I played the second fret on my A string and let it resonate, it would start to go a little sharp. If I re-struck it, it sounded correct again, but then would resonate sharp. I did this several times, making sure that my fretting finger didn't move. I double checked my set-up and intonation on my bass, and everything checks out okay. Is this normal?

This happens to me sometimes if I pluck the string exceptionally hard with my picking hand. If you're convinced that your set-up is A-OK then I think you have your answer
