tone question

Does anyone know what types of fx that the bass player from alice in chains uses? Specifically the song "would".

He is not using any effect, it is just the sound of his Spector played with a pick.

A SansAmp VT Bass can get you close, but i has more to do with the setup of the bass and the attack on the picking technique.
