Tone Recipies

Settings on what? You'll get 10 million answers to the most vague question ever posed to TalkBass. Different amps, different cabs, different basses, strings, pedals, rack units, rooms, recording systems, other instruments you've got to compete sonically with... too many variables. Tweak to the mix. What sounds good in the bedroom, doesn't always work in the DAW, or the club, or the concert hall.

What are settings for some really good tones? This a thread for any tone, slap, metal, jazz, funk, anything!

Are you asking for tones using effects/pedals? Or did this thread just get put in the wrong place?

If you're asking about settings for basses and amps you'd need to let people know what gear you're using to get back meaningful answers. If you're asking about effects you'd need to let us know what effects (or even what type of effects) you're talking about.

Sorry. Amp settings. My bad

For what style? What kind of instrumentation? What kind of room? What amp? Cabinet? Again, it's too vague of a question. I just start with the knobs at the 'noon' position and adjust to taste.

How did they taste? Good?
