Okay, now I've pretty much always tried to pay homage to the ol school reggae tone(s). Not really trying to imitate one person in particular. I don't copy gear trying, I use what I have and try to get it there. I've had success doing that, at least my bandmates are satisfied haha.
But there is one live sound I've heard that I love to recreate but haven't been able to. I was wondering if any of you could point me in the right direction. Doesn't sound like any flatwound I've used or heard elsewhere. May have more to do with his pickups. I doubt there's any effects, but I don't know much about bass effects. I just know they aren't regularly used in reggae. If you think you can help please listen and tell me what you think.
I know not the bass players name, as he's not the normal touring bass player for the band singing. If you watch long enough for them to actually show him he's wearing a "Got Music" shirt haha.
