That’s a cool sounding track. The pocket’s great and I really like the production. It sounds so much like the early 2000’s Erik Truffaz quartet, with the filtered Rhodes and heavily delayed trumpet. Worth checking out his album Walk of the Giant Turtle if you’re not familiar.

Fantastic.

I’ve recorded albums where we spent 5 weeks on drum tracks and didn’t get quality as good as what you have there.

Fun combination of tunes. I had to go check my Real Book to see if Freedom Jazz Dance solos over AABA; been a minute since I played it. It does not!

Also your cover art gives legit 50s/60s Blue Note. Which I am sure was the plan.

I booked a studio with a great room and kit, paired with a great drummer makes mixing easy!

Thanks, the song started out as a hommage to Freedom Jazz Dance but in the studio we decided to solo over the So what D/Eb-changes to make it more fun. So that's where the title came from.
