Well, [bleep] near every other flight to the US seems to connect through the airport here, so one never knows.

Tool/wood shops I should visit in the US

So, I don't really know of a better place to post this, but Cam over at Blacktail Studio has created this new website to try and locate various shops that other woodworkers can rent/use. First of all, Cam and Blacktail Studio is a custom furniture builder in Portland, Oregon; specializing in very large resin river tables. Some examples of his work -
Anyways, setting that aside and getting back to the website deal; his idea was to create a space where you can find local wood shops that might have tools/equipment you don't. Or maybe you have tools/equipment others don't and would be willing to rent shop time. For those interested, check this out -

I know Cam uses "Creative Woodworking" in Portland because they have a massive 50" Costa planer/wide belt sander that he can feed his tabletops through. I've seen it, it's YUGE!
Guys like @Bruce Johnson and @Rôckhewer might find it interesting, probably for different reasons. The website is still in its infancy, so more shops are being added each month as word gets out. Maybe you find something in there that helps, maybe not.
In other words - "TL : DR = YMMV".

Agree, they even had a number of shops in Canada, including one about a 5 minute drive from me
reminds of the drive I took from Brighton to Edinburgh many years ago. A distance like that might take an afternoon here in Canada. Ended up taking us three days.
Mind you, I drove from Swindon to Sterling, poked around there for a good while (scattered my Dad's ashes) and back to Heathrow in less than 12 hours once.
