Found this guy offering an Ampeg 8x10 for 700 talked him down to 600 since the said the sides were scraped up. Then after seeing pictures Took it down to 550. Im almost 100% sure I can get it to 500 when I show up tomorrow.

I can re toltex it [or even cooler tweed] for pretty cheap. He said the woods not THAT bad but the pictures look atrocious. However it is PLAYABLE and it is fix able so for the right price I can take it.

However what is a good deal for it? 500$ sounds good? Here are some pictures... Beware there BAD.

I dunno re the price in the USA.... but if the Spkrs are good, Structurally good-the front grill looks good too........ the back tolex looks OK-from pics -also !!! at the cheapest option ..U could just paint the sides black! :-) As I said -I dunno re US prices.... so check out options-coz apart from sides -it looks OK 2 me!

$500 sounds like a good deal...and you wouldn't even have to pay an up-charge for it being a relic. ;)

BTW, some black spray paint on the wood will fix that right up. I did that on mine all the time before I so stupidly sold it. That cabinet was in similar condition, yet was a 1996 model (one input, no slide rails, etc.), and I think I got about $600 for it.

I wish I could get it for 300$ I would just feel bad since the dude had to originally at 700$ And i offered to buy it for 600$ now I can't ask 300$ I'm going to show him this thread since he probably won't believe it [I didn't myself] and I really wish I could get it for 350$ Only cause I know 500 is too much and 300 might be right but it just doesn't seem so. I might do 400$ who knows..

Just got off the phone with him. He said 500 was the lowest he would go I offered 450 he said to meet him in the middle. 475. What do you guys think? Should I push the 450$ or is it even worth it?

Im going to offer 450 on it no more. He said it was owned by the bassist of Rob Zombie [doesn't make me want it more] and that it had just gotten all the speakers replaced at the factory, [Probably not] but either way looks like a good deal. Anyway to tell if its an SVT speaker? Im leaving in 15 mins to go get it..

Yeah at the end of the day, it's still a monster cab no matter how pretty it is. And if you tweed it.. that'll be HOT.

And if you buy it today you have instant gratification :). No waiting around for weeks and weeks for a better deal.

The main reason I got rid of my 810 is it was a bitch to move. Once my dad sold his truck, I had nothing left to move it in. I sold it to GC and got screwed... should have held out and sold it on the classifieds. But my sound evolved and I needed something different anyway. I believe every bassist should own a fridge at some point. The 810 is just classic like that.
