that just means you've been dealing with the right bass amps and the wrong power amps.

Yeah, that's a really weird conclusion... good power amps go forever. My old QSC still seemed brand new when I sold it after 10+ years. I have a pair of old Crowns that are probably 30 years old and show no signs of slowing down yet.

There's a lot less to go wrong in a power amp, than a bass amp...the preamp adds complexity, part count and possibility of failure to the mix.

I thought the only thing that stored current was a flux capacitor ... :hiding:

very fun reading these technical treatises. i can only testify that if my CA-9 pwrd rack had weighed 6 or 8 lbs, i would have hung onto it 'till death - a sound & feel that will never be equaled. as it is, i'm perfectly happy with D800 / D800+.
