This’ll be sure to offend the beer snobs! It’s the beer I drink I when I don’t feel like having a beer, LOL...but not having a beer is against cottage rules, so there it is!

Normally my own setup is right where the gong is, but I had to vacate the premises this week since my lovely housemate who sings, plays the musical saw, and shrewty box is collaborating with another talented gal who came up from Oregon yesterday and will be staying with us all week. Their very first performance together is on Thursday.

Oops, I spelled it wrong :rolleyes: Here's how Wiki describes it:

A shruti box is an instrument, originating from india, that traditionally works on a system of bellows. It is similar to a harmonium and is used to provide a drone in a practice session or concert of Indian classical music. It is used as an accompaniment to other instruments.

Hers is operated with a foot pedal while singing, sawing, and/or drumming. I'll try to get some video, but her projects are often only lit by candlelight which makes it difficult

well its cool any way :) ive seen the saw being played over in england when i was a kid back in the 70's plus a carpenter frend of mine used to get some good sounds out of his saw :thumbsup:

Last night's show was bomb. I did get some vid of her using the shruti box but need to get her permish to put it out there. Here is a photo of her at a tiny piano that she plinka plunked on very briefly between most numbers >
