Spider spinning it's saran wrap like web around the bloodless carcass of a little honey bee that flew right into it , who's now wrapped up like lunch leftovers

Since late summer these webs are all over the yard and several have even set up their food catcher inside our house They don't frighten most of us here, as we're aware they don't go after humans and they eat other bugs that we might consider to be 'pests'... like skeeters! Although, they would probably catch more meals outside of the house

Got this Yellowjacket in a web a few weeks ago.

That ring is something else. Is that crystal of some sort?

Yes. I don't know if it's all just one clump or several crystals. She made it. I'll try to remember to ask her next week when they get back from vaca.

We've got some here and there around the house, but this is by far the biggest and heaviest single piece >

This is what I like most about spiders... they keep the other bug population down. Expert silk mobile home spinners. Fascinating creatures, really

I used to have all kinds of jem stone and crystal as well as slag from out of SF bay. Years ago I was a ceramic artist and made plaster casts of some of the rocks to use as press molds in ceramic pieces.
