I guess one upside of all this Covid19 lockdown is that it gives us time to do stuff we really should be doing all the time...Boot-Polishing, for one.

Ooooh those are cool! I'm the only forty something in my circle of influence who has a shoeshine lit complete with a box that has an angled stand on top to prop to your foot on.

Worn leather shoes with a fresh shine are the same kind of cool as a road worn vintage P bass that has been polished. Way cool.

I attended a friends wedding about a dozen years ago on that ship. What makes it memorable to me was that night the wife and I got into the worst fight of our marriage on the way out (she slugged me in the elevator )

That couple is no longer married either. Spooky indeed

During WW II, my dad was a young Navy officer on a warship in the South Pacific. My sister was recently going through some old boxes and found this 76 year old self-sketch of himself in his ship cabin writing a love letter to my mom, "Dearest Ginger". Us kids never knew this existed until a few weeks ago. Anyway, I thought I would share.

That's an amazing discovery. Please have it sealed/framed ASAP. And thanks for sharing it with us.
