^^^The first Tree shot belongs behind glass!

Thank you. I remember there being shafts of light coming through the trees but unfortunately that really didn’t come through in the picture. Still a thrilling time seeing these huge ancient trees.

Somewhere I have a close up of the tree that was cut down by vandals. The little metal placards mark historical events such as the revolutionary war, the signing of the Magna Carta, and the birth of Christ. It’s sad to see this big beautiful tree laying on the ground, but it is amazing to see the rings and learn how old these really are.

excellent. and the lighthouse shots it feels like i'm there :)

Thanks! I have to take some time and organize my pictures. I have images scattered across my phone and on my computer. Somewhere there is a shot looking at the stairs we had to climb to get back to the top of the cliff. I can’t remember how many stories we had to ascend, but they built alcoves and put in bench’s to rest if you needed a break.

^^^Early 1960s...whenever Any of the family would visit from Ireland, my father would Force-March us all up the inside...tight spiral staircase...of the arm of the Statue Of Liberty so we could all stand outside up at the torch and gaze, gobsmacked, out over NYC.
Then, he would pile us All into the car...a late-50s Chevrolet?...( seeetbelts?! We don’t need no stiiiiinking seeetbelts!!) and drive like a freakin’ maniac the length of New York State (6 or 7 hours; felt like 40!) so we could all get a face full of Niagara Falls.

I prolly made that trip 6 or 8 times!
Me Da was the oldest of 12. :)
