It's a total coincidence that I came here and read this very sad news. I'd intended to share a picture of an old picture of a friend from way back that I just learned passed away.
I'm not sure what I can say other than that I'm sorry.
RIP John Rowan, AKA, Blackie
We all drifted away in different directions about 30 years ago. I've long wondered what became of John from time to time. I believed or assumed he was out here in L.A. too but I knew he wanted his privacy. I wouldn't even know how to contact all of our old mutual friends, including his sister, now. Sad news.

When I was formally the Assistant Director of Race Operations, for Auto Club Speedway (Fontana, CA), I had unrestricted access, to everything.
Here I am, in my personal truck, coming in the pits, after an inspection of the high-spreed oval, walls/safer barriers, fencing, and gates, prior to a NASCAR event.
I had the track all to myself.
Fun times.
I always think of passing on as starting a new adventure, perhaps in some other dimension. I had a very good friend pass at 30, and I really felt he was bouncing/flying around the universe joyfully discovering the unimaginable. I have read several of your posts here, and will remember you. Peace to you and yours and may you experience a wonderful new existenceThank you. I’m looking forward to what’s next!

Well that's just hit me hard. I've been a bit haphazard in my dropping by recently, but I'm sorta glad I caught this so's to get a chance to say farewell. We've not really communicated much but I've always gotten a good vibe from you.

Nightcliff markets for breakfast My grandson is climbing on the wall there, My daughter-in-law has a stall just off to the left. I love Darwin, as there is so much to do owing to the "outdoors" lifestyle of this Tropical City.
My wife’s work, with dollar store deco. She made the candy blue ice, I called her Walt
