And, btw, this site has changed. There seems to be a lot more posts about bass guitars; bass guitar playing; bass guitar amplification; bass guitar music; bass guitar this; bass guitar that… what happened to discussions about Buck-ees, probably the greatest purveyors of schlock and bbq that the world has ever known? View attachment 5287982

Mostly I quit talking about Buc-ees because beavers are known to chew on wood; and I like my basses unchewed.

I just pulled a Hermle eight-day Westminster movement out of a vintage mantle clock, and replaced it with a Chinese quartz movement.

Part of me feels very sad about this. I will miss all of the delightful mechanical whirring noises.

The rest of me is glad to finally have a reliable clock.

A few days ago I found two $100 Bill's beside my driveway. Ah, my lucky day, I think I will take them to a local casino and turn them into $20. Upon closer inspection they turned out to be counterfeit. They were cut crooked and both had the same serial number. I decided to turn them over to the local police and let them ignore, I mean, investigate the source of the bills.

Should have turned them into the FBI; states have no jurisdiction over federal laws. There have been court rulings for decades saying that states have no authority to uphold federal law. From border control, to drug enforcement, to gun law, states have consistently been ruled against in federal courts. It's really no wonder that the local police wouldn't care.

The Secret Service is the agency that deals with counterfeiting (I think) and the local police should turn the bill over to them to conduct any investigation.

Across the bay?? Really? Why are you all the way across the bay from where she is? Can she even hear you when you’re calling to her from across the bay? Are you even sure you’re yelling at the right girl? She’s a speck in the distance, fer chrissake!

If you were really interested, you wouldn’t be across the bay from her! You’d make that trip in a heartbeat, so you could be right there, up close and personal. You can’t woo the girl when a huge body of water stands between you!

Sheesh, c’mon Jay!
