I've been listening to this CD alot lately. I mean alot. And I'm loving it. I'm a fan of all thier stuff but never really gave the newer stuff a chance. Man is it good.

The bass on this CD gives me chills. It barks and burps, and just plain melts the speakers. I'm going to see them in December and am really looking forward to it.

We play this tune on almost every gig in one of the bands I work with - I love it! Awesome groove, and great changes leading into the chorus.

Is "Down to the Nightclub" on the same album? We play that one a lot too, and it's become one of my TOP favorites...especially the 7/8 bars.

Jeff Lorber had a hand in recording that cd and the songwriting reflects it. Listen to the few cd's after and you'll hear the songwriting is a bit lacking. Still some good funk to be had.

I agree with you, the studio stuff since this album is cool but not as the previous albums (the one before that, "TOP 1993" is my favorite above all, great songwriting and great Rocco on bass)....anyway the live "Soul Vaccination" is a blast!
A little off topic: you said that the songwriting reflects Jeff Lorber's presence on the album...I argue you don't like his songwriting!!
I personally love some of Jeff's albums and I love his writing...even if it's sure mostly "smooth jazz" oriented...

No no no......I never said that! I think you read wrong. Just saying that cd was probably TOP's best in a long while and that I don't think any cd since has sounded as good. 'Give Me Your Love' (off their next cd) is a good tune though. I'm a huge Jeff Lorber fan!
