Trace Elliot BFC cab problem

First off im totally useless when it comes to amps n cabs. Anyway i got what i thought was a bargain TE BFC cab off ebay. However, i noticed now that only the 1x15 is working and there is absolutely no noise form the 4x10's. I know im using a very underpowered head (Ashdown MAG 300) so i know im not doing the cab justice but it was very cheap. Would the head im using be the cause of this or does (like i assume) it sound like there maybe a loose connection to the 4x10 part of the cab. As i say im fairly amatuer on back line stuff so plain english answers would be very much appreciated.

Perhaps the socket panel has been altered to provide seperate powering of the tens, anyway the ten inch speakers are wired in series parallel
to run four at eight ohms
The fifteen if I remember is available in series or in parallel/with the jack plate wiring.
I would take the jack plate out and using a nine volt battery find the tails for the tens and place them in phase in parallel with the fifteen
and solder them both to one of the sockets.:ninja:

Ok its just been puit to me that the only head that will power the entire cab is the AH1000, either that or use 3 power amps as effectively the cab is three amps in one (2x 2x10's with tweeters and the 1x15). Anyone confirm this and if so know of any cheaper heads that wil do the same job?

Hi Pow,

Find a wiring guy to hook you up with a custom 4-lead cable w/Neutrik jack that will run all your speakers in paralell (if you amp can run that low of resistance, whatever it may be). Provided the ohms isn't too low you'll be able to use it.

Sending you a pm shortly...
