Trace Elliot content. For all TE-lovers!

Does anyone have any links to liveclips/soundclips where the bassplayer is playing on TE. It would be nice to hear other basists playing TE.

I´m also wondering if anyone have any cool info about my TE-head. I play an older AH500X. All info about this amp would be cool to have.

Best regards
Daniel Skilberg from Sweden.

I have no video, but if you look up Tony Levin and video's of him I think you will be covered. I know he used TE for a long time, and may well still us them. I have a TE GP11 preamp in my rig, and it is really well designed...frankly, I think it was a bit ahead of it's time.

I played through an AH500 one time, and it rocked from what I remember. Enjoy it.

Check out Jimmy Weider's Project Percolator on the Live Music Archive website. His bass player is fantastic and plays a Modulus Q6 through a full TE stack. Sorry I can't post a link right now - I'm at work and the site is blocked. The Project Percolator web site has pictures and may have some video too. These guys are amazing. Here's a link to thier site:

I didn't know Patrick Dalheimer used a Trace Elliot V-Series head on Lakini's Juice?? Always secretly wondered how the hell he got the distortion on that song, but that's true of most Live songs as well as the guitar player...amazing songs but tones on some of their albums are ALWAYS underrated as well...

a few other artists that used Trace in the early 90's-
Greg Lake
John Entwhistle
Geddy Lee

Perhaps there are some old YouTubes with them.

IIRC, Patrick used the V-Type heads and an MXR Distortion + pedal on that song. While he was pleased with how the mix turned out, he was thinking that the distortion would "take up a different space than it did." (forgive me if I misquote. I haven't read that article for almost 10 years)

Chad used primarily Diaz heads on that album.

Two monster Trace users that really impressed me with their live shows were Mark Harmon of the 77s and Brian Ritchie of the Violent Femmes. Both had hugely squashed signals with tons of compression, but a huge tone came out of their stacks because of it. Tight & punchy with crisp highs.
