Trace Elliot ELF

It might be nice as a permanent pedal board resider with an separate master for the XLR and the ability to go 1/4" with the baked in tone to your amp or board but with separate level controls and the controls facing up. If I had the ability to have that baked in tone all the time at all locations I would go for it. I thought about putting my Elf head on my pedal board in place of my Mesa Subway DI.

Can you use the headphone out as the input to a head? While sending the XLR to house?

Not a bad idea - Also you CAN used the headphone out - just make sure you have enough input gain control on whatever you are plugging it into.

What's a pedal board? All I need is an Elf, a cord or two, speaker cabs, tuner, (in line or clamp on), and a gig.

No disrespect intended, that's just how I roll.

That’s cool, my small rig employs just the elf and a cab. However due to its size and power, it’s not limited to such one dimensional roles. And thats pretty cool in its self.

So most of the time or rather all of the time when I'm using my TE Elf and Elf cab plug a cord straight into amp and it's small gigs or acoustic gigs so no need for a pedal board but my thought is the cool baked in tone of the Trace Elliot Elf head might be a welcome addition as a preamp on my pedalboard for big gigs I might give it a try with a bigger amp and a 410 I don't play bigger gigs often but some of the bigger gigs I play the elf is just not enough amp when they come out with a 500 watt Elf I'm in

Main reason I throw it on the pedal board is for convenience with my tuner and looper. Otherwise, in my home studio its just running straight into the cabs.

@Fred from Peavey let me see if I got this right?
The headphone out and speaker out are controlled by the master volume control (#6 in the manual) and the XLR out volume is not controlled by the master but is controlled by the input gain (#2 in the manual)?

Your suggestion should work well using the headphone out to drive an amp but still be able to control house level (if needed) with input gain and balance amp level at the master or at the secondary amp. And for smaller gigs just use the Elf as the power section. For that matter one could use a power amp too. :)

I recieved my TE 10” cab today from Musicians Friend.

I’m very happy with the sound, build, and weight. This is my first micro cab, so I was pretty impressed on how much and the quality of sound that it produces.

I haven’t had a chance to turn it up much, that will have to wait a few days. It sure looks nice with the ELF sitting on it though.

I might bring it to the gig on Friday to see how it holds up during soundcheck. I’ll have my 212 cab there as my main rig.

In size relationship with my Fender Rumble 15, my PBass, and random junk in the corner of the room. Bonus points if you can find Sid the ferret ransacking the corner looking for treasures to hide under my bed.
