Trace elliot/ Peavey/ Ampeg

Im looking at picking up a bass head. I play in a Post Hardcore band and have been advised to look at trace elliot and possibly ampeg and peavey.

I haven't got to much of an idea what im looking for. Any ideas from you guys?

Mesa M6. Lots of power, lightweight, sounds good, not too pricey used, reliable

Ive got a budget of roughly £500 for the head. Ive heard a lot of good things regarding Mesa

It's going to come down to personal preference on tone. I prefer my ampeg or peavey to a mesa, and it depends on what I'm doing for which of those I want. There is no right or wrong head based upon the name plate alone.

Ive got a rough budget of £500 so ampeg could be a bit too much at the moment. Peavey or Trace are probably the only ones roughly in that range
