:roflmao:

A little true story about my AH500x :D

In 1987 I played on a festival, where it was used as backline. (it wasn 't yet mine by then)

Solton/CRAAFT was sponsoring the event, so the cabs were CRAAFT cabs 410 16!!!! ohms!

(btw the 410cab in my pic is one of them)

Did you ever olay a rig with 8!!! 410 cabs? 4 for each 250W poweramp! (AH500x = 2x 250W :D)

I did :jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop::jawdrop:

Thanks for the thumbs up and it’s always nice to see green and black!!!

I bought my GPV AH500X from a Talkbass member (Smeet - good guy), with flight case back 7 years ago.

It just punishes, crushes and pounds everything around.

On two occasions my rig knocked shelves from our neighboring practice room.

The second shelf collapse led to
The other band nailing the shelves to the wall, but stuff kept bouncing around and onto the floor, so they gave up.

When I’m playing full volume band level prog metal, there is nothing at all like my AH500X.

Except yours!

Played them a lot when they were at their height. The energy coming out of them was brutal. Great amp. Quite an accolade for it to be still competing with modern combos performance wise. However I didn't try picking one up off the floor till a couple of weeks ago. OMG!!! Though the Trace Elliot is much prettier it's heavier than my car. 40lbs heavier than my combo and a third the power. Worth the money but not a hernia.

I have a GP 12 something or other, one with a handle and feet to stand vertically. That EQ slider basically adjusts the amount of EQ that is applied to your signal. All the way down mutes it, all the way up is way boosted. I got the amp and a matching 4x10 in the mid 90s but sold the cab because it was just too big. I still use the amp to power a 2x10 Avatar and a 1x15 Ashdown. It's a mongrel.

I pretty much run it flat, without EQ engaged, as a poweramp to drive my SansAmp. Done it that way for years. This Saturday, we played a show and I backlined my rig. The opening bassist usually plays through an Aguilar rig with 2 2x12 cabs, which I haven't heard. But my rig was loud (he played a P) and he really loved the bottom the 15 added.

The second band's bassist played a Ric through the rig, had all the EQs engaged, and it was huge sounding. I was really happy with how the TE performed and it's making me want to go mess around with it and see what it can do (besides be loud).

There it is on the left!

OK, I have a GP12 Series 6 and after owning it since 96 or so, I finally decided to look up a manual and found the exact one! If you want it, it's here: https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/c44a33_eaa368ee8f554558953e65b34c32a340.pdf

On a thread I read today (maybe even this one), I'm just a plug n play guy. Whatever sounds good to me is what I go with. Now that I have this user's manual, I really want to fire it up and give it a go. I'm learning stuff I've never known before, like the headphone jack. I've never used it because when I plug in phones, I still hear the speakers. Guess what? I'm supposed to UNPLUG the speakers and just use the amp with headphones. DOH!

It's like a new amp all over again!!
