Trace Elliot Series 6 GP12 combo

I just got one of these old banged up things. Sounds absolutely amazing. I might make it my main amp instead of the EBS stack I have been using the last couple of years.
Wondering if any of you have one, what you think of it - and might know if it can handle an extra 15" cab connected to the internal 4x10".
I love this Trace Elliot, but it's heavy as a truck. My guess is that it's 20-30 years old

I used one of these in a rehearsal room about 6 months ago and was so impressed how great it sounded I tracked down a bought an AH200 Series 6 GP12 head. Same as your combo it's rated as 200 watts at 4 ohms but sounds way more powerful. The four 10" speakers add up to an 8 ohm load, so you can add another 8 ohm cab to get the full output into the combined 4 ohm load. I would love one of these combos but its weight and awkward shape would stop me from gigging it.

Thanks mate. I love the sound, but weight might make this a permanent resident in the rehearsal room, and I might ude something lighter to november around

Hello Steen :)

Long time TE user here.

If you want to gig it , just take a screwdriver and separate the head from the cab.

The head fits in a standard rack! It was designed for that!
(get a used lightweight SKB or something similar)

Leave the TE cab in your reproom and put the head on a modern lightweight cab….

And Bingo!

weight and awkward shape would stop me from gigging it.

Hi Mark :), see post above! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

may the bass be with you

These are great combos. I had one. It just became impossible to lift though.
The speakers were a great match for the head. 50w drivers only. Total 200w. I had another separate AH200 and AH350 head but they never seemed to sound as good through my lightweight cabs- Markbass, GK, Genz. I'm still tempted to buy a separate Trace cab for this

I use my AH200 with two Bergantino HD210 cabs.

Old TE stuff is amazing. I had two SM 7EQ and they sounded amazing. But they are bulky as hell. and weight too much. Also their 4x10 was one of the best cabs i have had. And was made with MDF or aglomerated wood (known to be inferior) and speakers were Stamped frames my guess. And you can see a lot of manufacturers nowdays raving for "cast frame". What i want to try to say is that old cab oudated sounded even better than some modern updated ones..If i will have a not to lift and a good rehersal space an old TE will be one of my rigs to have
