Trade Question - Pheral AI for Music Man Sterling

Hey guys, I have a 2016 EBMM Sterling that doesn't see much love. There's a Pheral_ai locally which has caught my fancy. I am fascinated by Alpher Instruments but I must admit I know very little about the sub brand. Would you say it's a good trade?

This is the exact bass that I'm eyeing.

And this is the bass I'm letting go:

Can't find any info on that bass. Is it discontinued?

Hmmmm, that's a tuff one. From what I understand that is the first version of the Hammerhead with a neck made by someone else.

It comes down to is it something you want to do. I personally am not a J neck guy but most people are. The Sterling is a great bass ErnieBall did a good job of destroying the name of by putting out the Sterling line of basses with the same name. It's like as soon as people see Sterling they judge without knowing. They play and sound great and are very versatile.

The Hammerhead is as great bass as long as you play it and want to keep it… I would make the trade if you play the bass and you know it's right. If not your just trading a bass out with a harder bass to sell.

I personally would pay more for/keep the Sterling unless that bass was the one. I have basses that are much better priced and are known brands I can't seem to sell. Never had an issue selling a Musicman, Fender, or Gibson. People like what they know and know what they like.
