Trade Stringray for RIC?

Are the chances of this super low? I've been really interested in a Rickenbacker. But i dont know if it would be better than a stingray or not...

If you do a trade + cash it might be possible. I doubt anybody would trade you straight out. They're two completely different animals, so no real way to say one is better than the other. Though I do prefer the Ric.

Like apple and orange. You cant get any more different in just about every category.

You would probably have to add cash on your end.

If it was an older 'Ray then you could probably do a straight trade or trade with cash on their end.

Those two basses are totally different, in terms of tone and feel you may want to try a rick out if you havent, you may not like it.

I just had a guy offer me $400 and his new Sterling HS and I turned him down. It was tempting since I love Sterlings but I just couldn't do it for $400.

I understand. I figured it would be cash on my end. I keep seeing like 70's rics going for like 1200. which is what rays cost usually.

Why do a lot of older rics go so much lower than new ones? Seems to be the opposite of fender.

I see a lot of older Rics going for more than the newer ones, unless you're talking about the brand new ones. The brand new ones have the thinner necks and the push pull pot. There are probably few older Rics out there with bad necks due to the single truss rod in the 4001's.

Ohh makes a lot of since! Thanks for the heads up. Maybe one day I'll be lucky enough to afford a rickenbacker as well as my stingray. And not have to trade or sell.
