Trading for a Vintage VJ74?

I am a bad guitar player that is jumping into the deep end. I currently have an LTD B50 FM as a bass and it seems to be an okay bass for someone like me. It plays nicely and sounds great to my ears. But, like everyone else, I have gotten GAS. I have a MIM Fender Nashville Telecaster (not a bass) in excellent condition that I am thinking of trading for another bass. A local music store has a new Vintage VJ74 in sunburst that he is offering me. I know the Tele is not American made but it does play and sound good and with the middle pickup in these, it can mimic a Strat fairly well. And I think on the used market it should be worth a lot more than the Vintage bass. Question is, if you were me, would you make the trade? I have GAS really bad but also have some common sense and do not want to trade if I end up losing in the end.

I think the value of the guitar is probably about $500.00-$600.00 on the open market. I literally hate selling on FB Marketplace and definitely will not use CL. I may just put it up for local purchase only on FB. Or I may put it up for trades on there for a bass of at least equal value.

Going by conversion rates the new price of the VJ74 is $400 to $460.

While Vintage is a well regarded and thought brand over here in the UK, it's relatively unknown in the US. That will hurt any resale value.

Take Pepto Bismal for the GAS, sell the guitar then go shopping
