Transformers Matter?

I think they definitely matter as this traynor tube amp is only 22 pounds and I think they save the weight by using a different transformer and although I really like the sound of this amp it didn’t seem to have the volume/ heft you expect from 100 W tube amp

If I recall correctly, doesn't that amp use a toroidal PT? In any event, issues like volume and output characteristics take us into a whole other realm.

Do Transformers matter? Well I’m no authority (in this matter at least) but if I recall correctly from experience in my youth then, Yes. You’d likely much rather find yourself dealing with an Autobot than a Decepticon.

Indeed. The depth of my lack of technical knowledge in this realm has been revealed Nevertheless, asking questions and contemplating answers helps me to learn. Sort of like the Socratic method for bassists
