Travel size bass?

Hey all,
I'm wondering if anybody has ever ran across a small travel size acoustic bass? Something like a Baby Taylor, Little Martin, or something like that. I've never seen one, but if they exist I would like to buy one. Thanks in advance for any advice.

This is what I use, the Aria Sinsonido travel bass, link below. It is not an acoustic bass strictly speaking, but it has a piezo pickup so it does sound very acoustic.

It is light and small but a full 34" scale. This bass has literally been around the world with me. I have never had an airline stop me from bringing it on board as it is so small.

I use it in combination with the Markbass Micromark which is a 6" 100W bass speaker. This too I have schlepped around the globe.

This bass beats anything else I have seen labeled a travel bass hands down, it is really a nice instrument.

I am not sure if the dealer shown in this link actually has these basses now, as they were having some dispute about distribution rights in the US.

I agree. Looks good, and the price is right. I just wouldn't expect it to be very loud, but for practice, who cares??

How about this: uke-meets-Ashbory ?

As an acoustic instrument I'd imagine it to be about as functional as a chocolate teapot of course. But then the same could be said about most (but not quite all) of the acoustic bass guitars I've picked up; so you might as well accept the lack of function and use the space saved for a small box with knobs and a speaker.

If you are looking for an acoustic then you might want to look at Alvarez guitars.

+1 Alvarez makes a half-size acoustic bass. It's no good for anything but solo play, but it's cute as the dickens.

I didn't exactly give it a thorough test and it's been awhile but for what it is I wouldn't spend $300 dollars on it. I'm sure with a little effort or help you could make something you'd enjoy for traveling equally for a lot less.

I'm ******** for not reading acoustic in the OP, but to redeem myself I suggest the Kinal Kompact model. They're actually really nice.
